I have studied Finnish a bit, but when I went to Helsinki I couldn't understand almost anything people said. Does anyone in Finland speak how the language is actually written?Bewerken
Well, let's just say that there aren't many who do. In the metropolitan area the spoken language is called (Helsinki) slang, in other areas dialect, such as the Turku dialect, Tarmpere dialect, Lapland dialect etc. The language is spoken as it's written only in very official situations, as in the Governmet, when giving speeches and so on. Wikipedia has a large article concerning Helsinki slang, you might want to check it out:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helsinki_slang Stel aanpassing voor
